Something magical happens when a couple with impeccable taste chooses to have their wedding reception at the Wells barn, Tori & Dan were that couple! Don’t believe us? Check out their wedding!
Tell us about your venue:
Our reception was at The Wells Barn at Franklin Park Conservatory. I fell in love with the venue the first time I saw it. The feeling was reminiscent of the first time I saw Dan. Cheesy but true, I knew I had to have my reception there. The community garden was so beautiful and I knew the cocktail hour under the grape arbors with the wood-fired pizza baking right there would be just perfect. I worried about the temperature for an outdoor cocktail hour in August, but somehow we managed to get a perfect day, sunny and 70°.
Let’s talk about flowers! Describe your bouquet and boutonnieres:
Ohhh the flowers, where do I begin? Amy Music of Posy Luxury Florals knocked it out of the park. The cascading flowers on the head table took my breath away. I will never forget my beautiful bridal bouquet with blush and ivory and a mixture of greens. The boutonnieres were beautiful and each unique. I cannot rave enough about the various centerpieces and décor that brought each table to life.
The bridal bouquet:
Wild anemone, blush astilbe, ivory spray roses, blush garden roses, weigela
The centerpieces:
Keira, O’Hara, Blush and ivory garden roses, Juliet, peach garden roses, lace cap hydrangea, ranunculus, lisianthus, spray roses, astilbe, wild anemone, japonica pieris
Dan, in 5 words describe what you thought when
you saw your bride walking down the aisle:
Stunning, the luckiest man alive.
Party time! First off, how was that cake? And why did you choose your cake designer?
The cake was as delicious as it was beautiful! We also had a midnight cake that we enjoyed in our suite after the reception… because it was hard to leave the dance floor! I would recommend that to everyone! Jan Kish, Le Petit Fleur, is a no-brainer. She is a master of detail and flavor and just so amazing at what she does.
What was the most memorable moment of the reception?
I think we will remember our first dance for forever. We took a few dance classes with Ron Clark with Dance Plus Ballroom and it was so worth it. I think Dan could receive an award for the most improved dipper. During our engagement shoot with Ben, he asked Dan to dip me and it didn’t go well…although the laughs Ben captured are priceless. Dan wildly improved his dipping by our wedding day.
If you could choose one photograph to highlight from your whole wedding, what photo would that be?
It’s so hard to pick! But I really love this one!
